Aluminum
storm windows can be an excellent means to upgrade the energy performance
and STC of a historic wood or steel window system without degrading
its historic value. Aluminum storm windows are also an excellent
solution to protect valuable stained glass when applied to the exterior.
We offer a low profile extruded aluminum storm that maintains structural
integrity without deterring from the existing window site lines.
Re-View has broad experience in providing and installing historically
compatible storm windows.
INTERIOR
STORM WINDOWS
Interior storm windows are an outstanding solution to upgrading
the window system without compromising the exterior appearance and
shadow lines of the existing historic window system. We can mount
an interior storm panel any number of different ways. The magnetic-mounted
system facilitates quick and efficient removal of the storm for
cleaning. We also have used lift out panels, sliding, and clip in
storms. Interior storms can be single paneled, multi-paneled, or
removable paneled for ventilation.
EXTERIOR
STORM WINDOWS
The low profile of the extruded aluminum frame on our storm windows
makes the storm blend into the historic window without detracting
from its aesthetics. We can apply custom finishes to match any exterior
finish of the window. We can even install arched and rounded profiles
for curved window heads and specialty windows. Exterior storm windows
can be equipped with an integral screen with a removable storm panel
or a sliding panel.
GLASS
Re-View can utilize virtually any type of glass within 3/16 inch
thickness for our aluminum storm windows. The only limiting factor
is the structural design required to guarantee a durable product
that will perform in the long run. We have used clear plate, hard
coat Low E, wavy restoration glass, and laminated in our aluminum
storm windows. We have even used bent glass for radius storm windows.
