Re-View uses a great deal of cypress as the wood for its sash and frame parts for our historic window fabrication.

Also referred to as Taxodium Distichum, cypress is an excellent wood for the use of exterior windows. Cypress is reported to be abundant and secure, distributed primarily in southern states like Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, and South Carolina. This large, aquatic, and deciduous tree is reported to mature to a height of about 120 feet with a trunk diameter of up to 60 inches.

The heartwood is reported to be variable in color with some wood featuring lighter streaks on a darker background. The color usually ranges from yellowish to light or dark brown. The grain is normally straight. One attribute that makes cypress an excellent wood for historic windows is its high natural resistance to decay.

Re-View uses a great deal of cypress in the manufacture of its windows because of its durability.
