Ground
was broken for the present structure on July 19, 1935 and construction
was completed on March 4, 1937. The reconstructed school, called
Wyandotte High School, is situated on a 27-acre tract of land.
It represented an investment in 1935 of slightly over 2 1/2
million dollars at the time of its erection. Listed in the National
Registry as an historic site, Wyandotte is known all over the
world for the classic beauty of its magnificent architecture. |
The school's 1,796 seat auditorium features the Indian motif. A
frieze, done in various shades of tan and brown brick, captures
images of nature such as geese, squirrels, deer, hawks, cats and
Indians. The Southwestern influence is also reflected in Indian
pottery that adorns the walls on both sides of the stage.
| Re-View
was responsible for the demo and disposal of the original window
sash and frames and the installation of the replicated aluminum
window systems on 985 window units.Re-View also replaced the
greenhouse. All of the work had to be completed during the summer
over a three-month time frame before school was back in session.
This project serves as a great example of the capacity for Re-View
to perform on large projects with tight schedules. |
