Framingham is famous for the Dennison Manufacturing Company, which was founded in 1844 as a jewelry and watch box manufacturing company by Aaron Lufkin Dennison who became the pioneer of the American system of watch manufacturing at the nearby Waltham Watch Company. His brother, Eliphalet Whorf Dennison developed the company into a sizable industrial complex, which merged in 1990 into the Avery Dennison Company with headquarters in Pasadena, California and active corporate offices in the town. Rosewood Companies purchased the property and has spent the past five years developing the four buildings into a multi-use residential/commercial complex.

Since the existing wood windows in this building were impractical to repair for a residential application, Re-View had the challenge of matching the existing window details to fabricate an energy efficient replica. We utilized parts from the existing windows to serve as a basis of design for the replicated windows. The replicated windows were made of mahogany for lasting durability. We installed ½” insulated Low E glass with argon gas to improve the thermal values of the window system. This is critically important for multi-family applications especially since these windows were 42 inches wide by 9 feet high. The Re-View engineers also installed upgraded weather stripping without compromising the historic look of the windows. Now the project has classic windows that perform to the expectations of the occupants.
