The
Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City is one of the country's
premier art institutions. Its rich collections bring together
masterpieces from every culture and period of the world, spanning
over 5,000 years. The Museum opened its doors in 1933 as a gift
to the community from William Rockhill Nelson (1841-1915), founder
of The Kansas City Star. |

Re-View
was contracted to perform the complete restoration of the bronze
butterfly casement windows. Over the years, the bronze windows had
tarnished and much of the glazing had been replaced with Lexan.
A Lexan storm was screwed to the exterior of each lite through the
bronze sash. Re-View is blasting each window with a fine silica
sand to remove caulking, paint, and deterioration. All holes from
the storm windows were plugged and then a specially formulated patina
was applied to achieve an original weathered finish.
