The
City of Cambridge is renovating the currently unused City Hall Annex
as a green building. The Annex, which was originally constructed in
1871 as the Harvard Grammar School, will include 28 kilowatts of roof-mounted
photovoltaic panels, a ground source heat pump, daylighting, and numerous
energy efficiency measures. Tens of thousands of citizens will pass
through the building annually, making it a valuable public showcase
of renewable energy technologies and green building.

Supply
aluminum clad wood monumental double hungs with a black Kynar
exterior finish and special historic hardware. |
A key element in upgrading the efficiency of this historic structure
is the replacement of the windows with a manufactured aluminum-clad
wood window. Re-View performed all field measurements and supplied
shop drawings and window units for installation by the general
contractor. This project is a prime example of how a manufactured
window can be used to upgrade the energy efficiency of the building
envelope while maintaining a reasonable level of historic relevance.
