One section of historic window work that is
often neglected is the hardware restoration. Most specifications instruct
the restoration contractor to simply reapply the existing hardware
to the original window unit. Since much of this hardware has been
in operation for an average of 80 years, it typically has several
coats of paint over the original finish and has oxidized if it is
steel. Re-View has several methods for restoring existing pulleys,
locks, lifts, and pull downs that can adapt to various budgets. We
highly recommend that attention be paid to the restoration of the
hardware because a finely finished hardware can be the crowning touch
on a window restoration project.
HARDWARE
RESTORATION
It is incredible what effect the Re-View craftsmen can have on restoring
historic window hardware. We have had many clients absolutely amazed
at our capabilities to take a lock that looks to be junk and make
it look like jewelry.

HARDWARE
REPLICATION
It is common to find window hardware missing or damaged on a
typical restoration project. If this is the case, Re-View has
the capabilities to replicate existing hardware by closely matching
it as possible with new window hardware or when the budgets
allow creating a cast of the original hardware for an exact
duplication. |
STANDARD
HISTORIC HARDWARE
Re-View also has access to a dozen niche suppliers of window hardware
that can supply old designs from a vast inventory of locks, lifts,
and pulleys for a consistent look on a restoration project or for
replicated historic windows.
