Painting and staining historic windows is a very complex process and requires a wealth of experience in the chemical composition of the finish and the characteristics of the substrate. Re-View has invested thousands of hours evaluating the best finishes for its historic wood windows. Re-View has invested in four paint booths, two automated paint lines, and a large drying oven to enable us to provide the finest factory finish available. We use the latest electronic equipment to maintain quality control by measuring mil thicknesses of all of our finishes.

PAINTING
Re-View can finish the interior or exterior of the window system in virtually any type of color by any specified paint manufacturer. We can conduct paint analysis to achieve an exact color match. The Re-View painters will supply color samples on a representative substrate for approval by the architect and owner prior to fabrication.

STAINING
In addition to painting, our people can match virtually any stain finish. We have several painters on staff that have 20+ years in the business and are highly skilled at mixing stains to achieve a direct match to existing trim or millwork. We coordinate the restoration process with the finishing specification so we can utilize fillers and dutchmen that will blend well with the selected stain.

WOOD PRESERVATIVE
Over the years, we have seen an increase in the demand for wood preservative to be applied to the restored product. Our painters have negotiated all of the EPA guidelines and standards to use these preservatives as a base coat prior to applying the primer or stain.

INSECT REPELLENT
In some areas of the country, termites and carpenter ants are a real threat to wood window sash, frames and trim. The Re-View painters can apply an insect repellent as part of the base coat to deter these pests.
