In 1974, the original window frames were left in place, but the original wood sash were replaced with aluminum. Re-View used one single sash that had been saved to base our design and fabricated 493 replicated historic wood window sash to fit into the restored original frames in this Gainesville, Texas courthouse. Reclaimed Long Leaf Yellow Pine was used to exactly match the original frames and interior millwork. The entire first floor included arched window sash and the new sash for the upper floors are true divided lite with insulated glass to improve the energy efficiency of the building. Many of the arched windows were over five feet wide, requiring steel reinforcement on the lower rails to ensure long-term structural integrity. Re-View applied a Hunter Green factory finish on the exterior and a dark stain on the interior.
